Why our socks cost what they do

You can buy a multipack of sports socks for less than one pair of ours. So why would anyone pay more for a sock?

It is a fair question. Here is our honest answer.

Why do Active Rock socks cost more than regular sports socks?

Because each pair is engineered for a specific sport, not just knitted to fit a foot. Every Active Rock sock combines a bamboo fibre blend, targeted compression, a seamless toe, anatomical left and right shaping and zoned cushioning. Each of those elements takes extra material, extra knitting work and extra development time.

A sock for your sport, not for every sport

A padel smash, a tennis split-step and a 10 km run put completely different loads on your feet. That is why we do not make one generic sport sock. We make padel, tennis, pickleball, running and compression socks, each developed for how that sport actually moves.

The Padel Crew, for example, is engineered for explosive smashes, rapid pivots and lateral lunges on sandy turf. A multipack sock is not designed for any of that.

What goes into every pair

• Bamboo fibre blend. 80% bamboo fibre, 15% polyamide, 5% elastane. We chose bamboo over cheaper cotton blends because it is naturally breathable and helps manage sweat and odour. Read the science behind bamboo socks.
• Active Arc compression. Compression zones on the arch and metatarsus keep your foot stable and connected to the shoe.
• Micro-slip prevention. A grip design that stops your foot shifting inside the shoe on quick changes of direction.
• Seamless toe. No bulky seam where your foot pushes forward, which removes a classic cause of blisters. See how seamless construction prevents blisters.
• Anatomical left and right fit. Two different socks, each shaped for its own foot.
• Zoned cushioning and support. High-density padding under the heel and forefoot, and reinforced bands around the Achilles on our crew styles.

Most regular sports socks have none or only a few of these. Each one adds cost. Each one also solves a real problem on court or on the road.

The real cost of a cheap sock

A cheap sock looks like a saving until it costs you something else:

• A blister that cuts a session short, or keeps you off court for days.
• A foot that slides inside the shoe and costs you control on every change of direction.
• A sock that loses its shape after a few washes and starts to fold and rub.

The question is not what a pair costs. It is what it costs per session, and what it saves you in comfort and time on court.
